What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is an advanced procedure that uses controlled depth of small needles to create hundreds of micro-channels to the skin.
The process of microneedling triggers the release of growth factors and cytokines, producing more collagen and elastin to stimulate the skin’s natural ability to repair itself, resulting in younger looking skin.
The stimulation of collagen visibly corrects and treats age spots, blackheads, hyper-pigmentation (melasma), acne spots, scars, fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment improves the appearance of dull, “tired-looking” skin. Microneedling is highly effective on the face, neck, and décolleté, areas prone to signs of aging and sun damage.
Microneedling for scars has shown to help the breakdown of fibrous tissue, reducing the appearance of raised scars as well as breaking down the dense, fibrous tissue that characterizes scar tissue.
What to Expect from a Microneedling Facial Treatment
What sets this treatment apart is the immediate glow clients notice right after the procedure, with visible changes developing over several weeks and continuing to improve up to six months later. While some clients achieve noticeable results with a single treatment, we recommend a series of two to three sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart for optimal outcomes. Microneedling for scars, age spots, hyper-pigmentation, etc. will start to improve over time and are shown to be most effectively treated over multiple microneedling sessions. For more significant concerns like deep acne scars, six to eight sessions at six-week intervals are recommended.
