At-Home Facial Ritual for Radiant Skin, Relaxation and Magnetic Energy
Spring and summer are the perfect seasons to reset your skin, refresh your energy, and reconnect with yourself through intentional self-care.
At Energy With Julie, I believe skincare is so much more than products. Your skincare routine can become a ritual, one that supports your nervous system, your confidence, your glow, and the energy you carry into your life.
This at-home facial ritual is designed to help you nourish your skin while also creating space to relax, receive, and reconnect with yourself energetically.
Think of this as your glow reset ritual.
Step 1: Set the Energy
Before touching your skin, begin by setting the energy for your ritual.
Light a candle. Burn incense, palo santo, or sage. Mist your space with rosewater or an energetic cleansing spray. Put your phone away and allow this to become a moment fully dedicated to you.
Make sure to have a few crystals nearby to enhance the calming, grounding energy of your ritual.
Play soft healing music, sound bowls, or affirmations in the background to help calm your nervous system and shift your energy into a more relaxed state.
This is the perfect time to create an atmosphere that feels peaceful, grounding, feminine, and restorative.
Step 2: Cleanse + Steam
Begin with a gentle cleanse to remove makeup, oil, and buildup from the skin.
Next, create your steam ritual:
- Use a facial steamer if you have one
- Or fill a bowl with hot water and place a towel over your head for 3–5 minutes
The steam helps soften the skin, open pores, and prepare your skin for deeper product absorption.
As you steam, practice calming box breathing:
- Inhale for 4
- Hold for 4
- Exhale for 4
- Hold for 4
Repeat this breathing pattern throughout your steam ritual to help relax the body, calm the mind, and support nervous system regulation.
Think of this step as softening not only your skin, but your energy too.
Step 3: Exfoliate + Renew
This step helps remove dullness, smooth texture, and bring fresh life back into the skin for spring and summer glow.
My favourite exfoliating products are from PCA Skin, especially the Pore Refining Treatment and enzyme-based exfoliants.
When exfoliating, always choose gentle exfoliation over harsh scrubs. Avoid overly aggressive particles that can create irritation or micro-tears in the skin barrier.
The goal is healthy, radiant skin, not stripped skin.
Step 4: Facial Massage + Lymphatic Drainage
Apply a nourishing facial oil and begin your facial massage ritual.
You can use:
- A jade roller
- Gua sha
- Ice globes
- Cooling massage tools
- Or simply your hands
For an extra depuffing and tightening effect, place your tools in the fridge beforehand.
Focus on:
- Upward lifting motions
- Lymphatic drainage
- Releasing jaw tension
- Depuffing under the eyes
- Relaxing facial muscles
Inside my membership portal this month, I’ll also be releasing my personal daily cleansing massage ritual designed to help depuff, stimulate lymphatic drainage, sculpt the skin, and support graceful aging naturally.
Step 5: Mask + Receive
Now it’s time to fully slow down, relax, and receive.
Choose a mask based on your skin’s needs:
- Clay masks for oily or congested skin
- Hydrating masks for dry skin
- Calming masks for sensitive skin
- Sheet masks for glow and hydration
My personal favorites from PCA Skin are:
- Hydrate Therapeutic Oat Milk Mask
- Japanese White Charcoal Clay Mask
You can also use hydrating sheet masks like Dr. Jart+ masks or other masks geared toward your skin type.
Let the mask sit for 10–15 minutes while you completely relax.
This is where the ritual becomes energetic as well as physical.
While your mask is on:
- Listen to this Magnetism Affirmations on YouTube to magnetize what’s meant for you
- Breathe deeply
- Visualize your desires
- Relax your nervous system
- Allow yourself to receive
For extra loving care, hold a crystal in each hand during your meditation and affirmations. I recommend Rose Quartz or Selenite to help bring calm, self-love, grounding energy, and connection to the heart space.
The energy you cultivate while caring for yourself matters.
Relaxation, self-love, receiving energy, and nervous system regulation all contribute to the magnetic glow we cannot fake with skincare alone.
Step 6: Finish Your Glow
After removing your mask, apply your serums and moisturizer to lock in hydration and nourishment.
My top skincare essentials from PCA Skin are:
If you’re heading out during the day, always finish with SPF. One of my favorites is EltaMD sunscreen.
At night, simply finish with your moisturizer and allow your skin to rest and restore overnight.
You can also finish your ritual with:
- A facial mist
- Palo santo or incense
- A few quiet moments of gratitude
- Deep breathing or meditation
Glowing skin is created through consistency, care, hydration, relaxation, and the energy we pour into ourselves daily.
Your skincare routine can become more than maintenance it can become a ritual of self-love, healing, confidence, and receiving.
The Benefits of Facials Before the Sun Damage Starts
Many people wait until their skin feels irritated, congested, or damaged before prioritizing facials but proactive care is one of the most powerful ways to support long-term skin health. Giving your skin the care it needs before damage helps your skin’s resilience, preventing issues from escalation.
As we move into warmer weather, our skin is exposed to more environmental stressors including:
- Pollution
- Heat and humidity
- Sweat and oil buildup
- Increased UV exposure
- Seasonal allergens
Think of facials as seasonal maintenance for your skin, helping it stay resilient, clear, and nourished before summer stress takes its toll.
How About a Facial Cleansing Massage?
This month in my Energy Portal I’ll be providing an in-depth tutorial on how to do my facial cleansing massage ritual. This cleansing massage is something I do every morning and evening; it is essential for youthful glowing skin. It’s incredible for lymphatic drainage as it clears the lymph nodes of toxins that accumulate throughout the day.
Must-Have Natural Ingredients for At-Home Facials
We carry high-quality skincare products at Energy with Julie, but we also know the importance of incorporating natural ingredients too. Here are some natural staples that I keep in my cupboard, for skincare (not just consumption).
Raw Honey
Naturally antibacterial and deeply hydrating, raw honey helps soothe irritation while supporting moisture retention and softness. It’s perfect for treating burns early, and providing anti-bacterial properties.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is deeply moisturizing and rich in fatty acids that help nourish and soften the skin. Its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties can help support the skin barrier, reduce dryness, and leave the skin feeling smooth and hydrated. Combining it with sugar also makes for a 100% natural exfoliating treatment.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is cooling, hydrating, and especially supportive for inflammation or sun-exposed skin. It helps calm irritation while replenishing moisture. It’s the best immediate remedy when you notice you may be sunburned.
It’s Time to Start Facial Rituals this Spring
Spring is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself through intentional rituals that support both your skin and your overall wellbeing. Small, consistent habits of cleansing, hydration, facials, mindfulness, and nourishment, they all can make a powerful difference.
It’s time to take of your skin! As always, I’m here if you have any questions.
